Pennsylvania State Police at Laporte are investigating a burglary in a barn near the intersection of Bear Mountain Road and state Route 154 in Elkland Township.
Police reported a theft at a cabin on Bear Mountain road in Elkland Township between Dec. 5 and April 29.

REMARKS: The falls are extremely picturesque as the water plunges over flat-lying red sandstones of the Catskill Formation (Devonian age).
Buttermilk Falls (80) to the west in Fox Township, about 0.7 mile south of the village of Shunk on PA Route 154, is very similar.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Fire Administration awarded these funds to the Elkland Township Fire Department and the Elmwood Township-Gagetown Fire Department under the 2004 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety.
The Elkwood Township Fire Department will receive $48,392 and the Elmwood Township-Gagetown Fire Department will receive a $35,604 to help fund training activities and purchase new protective firefighter equipment.
These competitive grants were awarded to the Elkwood Township Fire Department and the Elmwood Township-Gagetown Fire Department after they both submitted well-written and persuasive grant applications that underwent a grueling national peer review process by 300 fire service leaders who evaluated and scored each application.

SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP - There was very little Bingham Township firefighters could do Monday evening to save a barn just off of Thomas Road near Morrison Road.
According to Bingham Fire Chief Scott Wright, the barn, owned by John Cieslinski, was a complete loss.
Bingham firefighters received assistance at the scene from Elkland Township Firefighters.

Rosalind E. Moore and two of her adult children said in a lawsuit filed Jan. 31 that either Moss Feaster Funeral Home or On Call Transport Service Inc. lost the ashes of husband Paul C. Moore, who died Aug. 11 at age 85.
His ashes were to have been shipped to Elkland Township Cemetery in Cass City, Mich., after a Pinellas cremation, which had been scheduled for Aug. 16.
Moss Feaster has no idea where the cremated remains of the dead body of Paul C. Moore.
