Ellery Hanley MBE (born in Leeds in 1961) is a rugby league player and coach.
Hanley was lured to Australia in 1988 to sign for the Balmain Tigers in the New South Wales Rugby League premiership competition.
Ellery Hanley looks back at the time he spent in Australia and remembers that "I wanted to be respected by the Australians as well, because their game is so superior to ours."
