Idaho belongs to the American War Mothers and is well organized, having units in most of the counties, which are working as local needs demand.
Early in March 1918, the Northwestern Division of the American Red Cross, with headquarters in Seattle, upon the advice of the chairman oc the Elmore county chapter sent their Field representative to Glenns Ferry to consult with the officers of the local auxilliary in regard to the opening of a canteen station.
After the armistice was signed many drew their support and it was then that the Elmore County Chapter assumed the greater portion of the financial burden in order that the canteen might remain open and welcome home the soldiers and sailors who had received their discharges.

Idaho lacked an accepted record for this species prior to this, so while I felt pretty good about the identification of this bird I recognized the need for extreme caution and solicited confirmation by humming researchers more familiar with the species.
This is the typical coloration of immature Black-chinneds in Idaho whenever they're present.
In Idaho this feature is usually prominent on immature Black-chinneds during their entire duration (all hummers are practically gone from my region by mid-late September).

 Snake River
Once known as the Lewis River, the Snake originates near the Continental Divide in Yellowstone National Park in NW Wyoming and flows south to Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park and past the city of Jackson.
The river enters Idaho at the Palisades Reservoir and joins with the Henrys Fork River near Rigby.
In doing so it passes through the city of Idaho Falls and the American Falls Reservor and then past Twin Falls and Boise to the Idaho/Oregon border.

A Federal Facilities Agreement (FFA) was signed on January 16, 1992, by the Air Force, EPA (Region 10), and Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW), to establish a schedule for investigations, interim actions, and required remedial actions at the sites.
