Elsloo is a former municipality in Limburg province, now part of the municipality of Stein.
Elsloo lies along the Maas river, a few km north of Maastricht, and consisted of the villages Elsloo (seat), Catsop, Grote Meers, Kleine Meers (part, remainder in Stein), Meers, and Terhagen, with (1968) 6.200 inhabitants.
Thus, the colours of the flag and their pattern stem from the shield of the Lords of Elsloo, while the green is the shield colour of the arms of the municipality of Elsloo.

The villagers of Elsloo (Fryslân) became annoyed with that - whereupon the members of the Vesuviusclub departed on 28 Dec 1970 for Limburg, and stole the Elsloo municipal CoA.
Which was a ruse de guerre: for when the Elsloo (Fryslân) villagers departed they missed the Municipal flag of Ooststellingwerf (which they had taken along to underline their protest) - for a moment unobserverved.

Farmers like to have something in reserve, and so it happened that the reciever was placed between the cattle's winter hay on the attic.
"It doesn't work anymore but I am not putting it away, you can fix her up for me one time, then it gets a nice place in the living room" cheered too early, thought I. About a year later, I was in Elsloo again, and visited the farm too.

In Maastricht Ton has given recitals on the monumental organs of the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Basiliek and the Servaasbasiliek.
On the latter, a magnificant and recently totally restored instrument, Ton performed the prestigious and virtuoso Eighth Organ Symphony by Charles-Marie Widor during the Organ Festival Limburg 1998.
The first one is a recording on the Pereboom and Leijser organs at Maastricht-Wijck and Elsloo, the second CD is recorded on the Le Picard organ at Gronsveld and the De Rijckere organ at Beek (both CD's are made of organs in the Dutch province of Limburg).
