 | | If the elves are simply the stereotypical good guys, and the humans, the stereotypical bad guys, then Elfquest is, quite simply, the presentation of a mythical, meaningless good in contrast to the inherent evil of man. But I do not think that Elfquest is an idealist tract of this type. |
 | | The "humans" of elfquest that are identified specifically as human, however, are generally portrayed as superstitious, ignorant and cruel. |
 | | But unless you agree with my fundamental point of view, that the elves are themselves nothing more than *us* with a symbolic frill or two, you'll be confined to the idea that they are simply one side of the good-evil dualism you absolutely despise. |
