Embraer E-Jets - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Embraer E-Jets are a series of twin-engine jet airliners, produced in Brazil.
The Embraer 170 and 175 compete with aircraft such as the Bombardier/Canadair CRJ-700 and CRJ-900, and the Sukhoi Russian Regional Jet, while the 190 and 195 compete with the Boeing 737-600 and the Airbus A318.
On March 22, 2006 Embraer and Royal Jordanian have signed a contract for the acquisition of seven firm EMBRAER 195s, with deliveries due to start in the fourth quarter of 2006.

AIN Online: Embraer’s ‘E-Jets’ halfway home
As with its decision to remove the “ERJ” prefix from the entire line’s product designation, such features illustrate Embraer’s attempts to distinguish its 70- to 108-seat airplanes from “conventional” regional jets and heighten their appeal to major and low-fare airlines.
Embraer also used the 175 flight trials to test modifications that will allow the airplanes to share avionics and fly-by-wire software, a benefit that will extend to the 190/195 program as well.
Last year saw the program speed past a number of milestones, starting with the February certification of the 70- to 76-seat Embraer 170 and culminating at the end of the year with Brazilian approval of the 78- to 86-seat 175–the latest model of the new single-aisle quartet to pass muster with the authorities.
