Embraer jets have carved a niche in the commercial airline market with their regional jet aircraft in the late 1990s and now they plan to do the same in the business jet, private jet, and Air Taxi markets.
Embraer entered the Very Light and Light Jet segments with the launch of the Phenom series (including the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300) in May 2005 and introduced the Lineage 1000, an ultra-large executive jet based on the Embraer 190 commercial jet platform, in May 2006.
Embraer expects to deliver, in 2007, between 160 and 165 Embaer aircraft in the commercial aviation, executive aviation and defense and government (sate-owned airliners and government authority transportation) segments.

On July, 1999, Embraer announced the development of a new family of aircraft: the E-Jets Series, comprising of the Embraer 170, 175, 190 and 195 aircraft.

 Fatal Embraer Events
The Legacy 600 was on the first leg of a delivery flight to the U.S. The 737 aircraft was also relatively new, having come into service with the airline less than three weeks before the crash.
This is not a numbered fatal event because the Legacy aircraft, although based on the design of the ERJ135 regional airliner, was not airline passenger flight.
The NTSB also stated that contributing to the accident was the deficient design of the propeller control unit which did not correctly evaluate the failure mode that occurred during this flight, which resulted in an uncommanded and uncorrectable movement of the blades of the airplane's left propeller below the flight idle position.
