	Riding the Rails: How Emerson Park in East St. Louis got a Metrolink station in their neighborhood.
		Emerson Park is a sixty-block subdivision that was constructed between 1910 and 1920 to house workers who labored in the rail yards, meatpacking plants and smelters of nearby National City.
		Several days later, more than one hundred Emerson Park residents and their supporters jammed the council chambers to see council members adopt a resolution calling on the regional transportation planning agency to realign the MetroLink route in accordance with the EPDC proposal.
		Emerson Park residents were delighted by the high quality of the housing, the outstanding urban design and the educational facilities.
