Emilio Fede - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Emilio Fede (born in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Messina, June 24, 1931) is a well-known Italian anchorman, often accused of partizanship in favour of the owner of his own TV station, prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Emilio Fede is well known to be a die-hard Berlusconi fan, and his strongly biased news can hardly be called journalism by any serious standard.
Fede has been accused of pretending even to not remember the names of his political adversaries (as with Francesco Rutelli), or using the worst available pictures when talking about them (as with Romano Prodi).

Fede might sound like a Berlusconi campaign manager for Italy's April general election, but in fact he is the silky smooth news presenter on a national television channel controlled by the prime minister's family.
To some critics, Fede is the living incarnation of the conflict of interest between Berlusconi's business might and his political powers that is without parallel in the West.
Any suggestions that his show is unfair or biased are swept away by Fede, who points to one of state television's three channels, RAI 3, which traditionally pursues a leftist editorial line and has double the audience share.

Mr Fede may want his weather presenter to be less sexy and more serious, but it could be argued that he himself is lacking in credibility.
He is often referred to as "Emilio Fido" for his lapdog-like behaviour towards Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who also owns the channel Rete 4.

In one of his 1996 election broadcasts, he led the nightly news with eight and a half minutes of a Berlusconi campaign rally; it may as well have been an infomercial.
