Emperor Go-Daigo (後醍醐天皇) (November 26, 1288 - September 19, 1339) was the 96th Emperor of Japan.
In 1318, upon the abdication of the Jimyōin-tō Emperor Hanazono (his second cousin), Go-Daigo became Emperor at the age of 29, in the prime of his life.
Emperor Go-Daigo's ideal was the Engi era (901-923) during the reign of Emperor Daigo, a period of direct Imperial Rule.

Emperor Go-Komatsu (後小松天皇) (August 1, 1377 - December 1, 1433) was the 100th imperial ruler of Japan.
He was named after Emperor Kōkō, who had the alternate name Komatsu, because they both returned the throne to their families, in the case of Go-Komatsu, by defeating his Southern Court rivals, and in the case of Kōkō, by succeeding his elder brother's grandson, Emperor Yōzei.
With the help of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, his father ruled as Cloistered Emperor.
