Empress Wang Zhi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Empress Dowager Wang exerted significant influence on her son, as can be seen from how, with her approval, her half-brother Tian Fen became the commander of the armed forces and exerted power even beyond the military affairs.
After Grand Empress Dowager Dou's death in 135 BC, however, she would become the paramount figure at court, and it was in 135 BC that Tian Fen was made prime minister, although her son gradually asserted his position as he grew in age.
Empress Dowager Wang died in 126 BC, and was buried with her second husband Emperor Jing.

 Laozi
Styled Fusi, Wang Bi (226-249) was one of the acknowledged leaders of the movement of the “Learning of the Mysterious (Dao)” (xuanxue), a revival of Daoist philosophy that came into prominence during the Wei period (220-265) and dominated the Chinese intellectual scene well into the sixth century.
According to Wang Bi, Dao is indeed the “beginning” of the “ten thousand things.” Unlike Heshanggong or the Xiang'er, however, he did not pursue a cosmological or religious interpretation of the process of creation.
Wang Bi is often praised in later sources for having given the concept of “principle” its first extended philosophical treatment.

The semi-mythical Empress Jingu is even supposed to have led an invasion of Korea in the 3rd century while pregnant with the child of her late husband the emperor (this son was later deified as the Japanese war god Hachiman).
This empress was no paragon of virtue and although like Deng Sui she was childless, she poisoned the only concubine who had borne Andi a son, and then had the son himself demoted from the position of Crown Prince.

The Empress Wang grew increasingly afraid of her new rival and united with Xiao Shu-Fei (who had been neglected by Gaozong ever since Wu Zetian returned to the Palace) to try to subdue her together.
Although many historians praise Empress Wang for her virtue, they also reveal that she was haughty and distant to the other ladies of the palace and to the servants.
There was also a charge of sorcery - that Empress Wang had tried to dabble in fl magic, and the supposed murder of the baby princess was not mentioned at all in the official reason for the Empress' deposition.

Excavation of Ancient Chinese Empress' Tomb in Dispute
Nobody knows exactly what's inside the 1,200-year-old Qianling mausoleum, the tomb of Wu Zetian, the famous empress of ancient China during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), because Chinese archaeologists can't agree on when to open it.
Located 80 kilometers northwest of the ancient city of Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Qianling is the joint tomb of Wu Zetian, who remained in power for 50 years, and her husband, Emperor Li Zhi of the Tang Dynasty.
Wang Danhua, an expert of relics protection, said that the relics have become acclimated to the environment inside Qianling as they have been there for more than 1,200 years.

Wang Mang (王莽, pinyin: Wáng Măng) (45 BC–October 6, 23), courtesy name Jujun (巨君), was a Han Dynasty official who seized the throne from the Liu family and founded Xin (or Hsin) Dynasty (旰朝, meaning "new dynasty"), ruling AD 8–23.
The Han dynasty was restored after his overthrow, and historians have traditionally viewed Wang as a "usurper," while some others have portrayed him as a visionary and selfless social reformer.
Another major reason for the deterioration of Wang's reign was that he was prone to, in the diplomatic arena, extreme arrogance and faux pas when dealing with allies and tributary states, particularly Xiongnu, whose Chanyu (king) he denigrated and whose internal affairs he tried to interfere in.
