En Esch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
En Esch (born Klaus Schandelmaier) is a contemporary musician and has been a member of the bands KMFDM, Pigface, and Slick Idiot.
Sascha Konietzko claims to have given Esch his nickname because the latter felt that his real name was inappropriate for the stage.
Esch left KMFDM in 1999 and formed Slick Idiot with bandmate G√ľnter Schulz.

En Esch (instruments and vocals) with additional vocals by Susanne Sprenger.
En's only single from "Cheesy" is a wonderfully dance-y song and is supplemented by 2 great extended dance remixes.
But, this is the updated dance sound of KMFDM through the capable hands and ears of En Esch, thus the songs have a certain sexiness and originality to them unlike the majority of songs Sascha K. comes up with.

CD Review: En Esch Cheesy   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
En Esch is best known for his role in KMFDM, but in my opinion, his solo material really outclasses KMFDM in recent years.
Esch does a lot of the same stuff that KMFDM does, such as dance friendly numbers and hard rockers, but he does it with more flair and sex appeal.
Esch is an excellent programmer and arranger, and he puts his many friends to work (lots of different female vocals and great guitar work throughout).

In it, En Esch does what En Esch does best, growling lyrics in a steamy, almost sadistically erotic fashion, and Gunther plays in his playground and adds to the sounds in only ways he could.

In much the way that blues-based music can be understood as an extension of agrarian life, industrial music was invented in the 70s with rhythms, textures, and instruments, such as power tools and mass-produced objects, to both mimic and decry industrial civilization.
En Esch, co-founder of KMFDM, takes the baton and runs ever further into a post-industrial beyond with Slick Idiot, his new, New York-based outfit.
In March, En Esch sat on a panel with Chuck D. (of Public Enemy) and performed with Slick Idiot at the Mercury Lounge as part of the "Global Entertainment Summit," a forum for independent music and film.

Sascha, En Esch and co. have a remarkably consistent record when it comes to new material, with no multi-year absences while they produce the material to death, and none of the hyper-productivity (with associated drop in quality) that's the trademark of certain other artists.
Of course, part of this is due to the band having long ago come up with a successful formula, one they've stuck to with remarkable tenacity since.
So there's plenty of Sascha's distinctive vocals, some of En Esch's also-distinctive vocals, lots of guitars, lots of electronics, and songs (well, OK, one song) about how wonderful KMFDM are.
