Enchanters' End Game recovers (nothing like a massive battle to perk things up) but Edding's will always be noted more for characterization and detail than for action.
The queen of Arendia, Mayaserana, manages (in heavily embroidered language) to stop her country's civil war, which was supposed to have ended centuries ago but stayed because of a formality.

By the end of Book 5, his emotional range includes earned sympathy for his enemy -- a rare trait in the standard fantasy fare.
This volume includes the weakest entry in the series, Castle of Wizardry, where the heroes regroup after a successful end to part one of the quest.
That said, the Belgariad is the first, the most original and probably the best farmboy-saves-the-world quest of the genre.

Continue on this magnificent journey and be entranced by a saga of strange lands and peoples, of prophecy and strife set against the background of a seven-thousand-year war of men, Kings, and Gods.
In "Castle of Wizardry" and "Enchanters' end-game", we meet once again with the same characters, but we are allowed to watch the way in which they have grown.
The Belgariad, and specifically these last two instalments of the series are the end of a great beginning to the fantasy of David and Leigh Eddings.

END OF THE QUEST - It had all begun with the theft of the Orb that had so long protected the West from the evil God Torak.
Afterwards, he discovered that his aunt was really the Sorceress Polgara and his grandfather was Belgarath, the Eternal Man. Then, on the long quest to recover the Orb, Garion found to his dismay that he, too, was a sorcerer.

Before ending this review, I can't resist mentioning a few of them to give you a flavor.
Everybody knows this, yet at the end when he dies - thus ending his first life - everybody is sad and acts like it is the end of the world.
This is particularly amusing at the end of the second series, when a woman is forced to choose between the two side, yet agonizes over which one is really good or evil.

Enchanters' End Game - David Eddings : Anyone for some Tolkien?
Just like Tolkien the two stories are dealt with in detail, one following the other, just as in Lord of the Rings, only coming together when the heros finally meet for the climax.
Like all of David Eddings books, this is entertaining, well written stuff, great characters, and a well rounded world, here with the plot finally coming to an end.

Enchanter's End Game by David Eddings Book Reviews
Enchanters end game is my favorite book of the Belgariad series.
The War in Thulldom is arguably the best written part of the book because it goes into such detail and it is all action packed.
In "Enchanters' End Game", the fifth and final book in "The Belgariad" we follow Garion on his final quest to save the world.

The farmboy Garion, his guardian Polgara (known to Garion as Aunt Pol), the sorcerer Belgarath disguised as an old storyteller (called Mister Wolf by Garion and Old Wolf by Polgara) and the flsmith Durnik set out from Faldor's farm to pursue a mysterious stolen object.
The story begins with a brief prologue concerning all that had transpired from the creation of the world by the seven gods through the recovery of the Orb of Aldur by Belgarath the Sorcerer and the careful watching of the family by Polgara and Belgarath.
The story then tells of "the boy Garion's" earliest experiences of the kitchen and the smells and "Aunt Pol," how he met Durnik the flsmith, his early games and friends.

David Eddings' Belgariad is an incredible, five-book epic series detailing the events at the ending of an age.
The Belgariad is as much the story of Garion's coming of age as it is the story of a grand quest.
Garion grows from the 9-year-old boy we first meet to a hero by Enchanters' End Game, the fifth book in the series.

Of course as with any great story you are disappointed when it ends, take heart as you may either start the story over or begin another of Edding’s series.
Though he has written other series he's also written other books of interest dealing with characters from The Belgariad (If you’d rather stay with them awhile longer).
