 Interfaces
Interface agents are computer programs that employ Artificial Intelligence methods to provide active assistance to a user of a particular computer application.
Emerging from the intersection of AI and human-computer interaction, research on intelligent user interfaces is experiencing a renaissance, both in the overall level of activity and in raw research achievements.
Their Attentive User Interface (AUI) is a new paradigm for interacting with groups of computers that moves beyond the traditional desktop interface.

Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, Summer 1992 Visiting Scientist, School of Computer Science I ported the ARTS distributed real-time kernel to Intel x86 architecture, and designed and implemented user-level real-time thread mechanisms in it.
Explicit timing parameters can be attached to each user-level real-time thread, and the combination of user-level real-time schedulers and their supportive mechanisms in the kernel enables correct scheduling among user-level real-time threads.

A person's computer should be worn, much as eyeglasses or clothing are worn, and interact with the user based on the context of the situation.
Since the user does not know exactly what should be done, he or she cannot manipulate the computer as a tool, but must ask the system to do something for him or her.

Session (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In computer science, in particular networking, a session is either a lasting connection using the session layer of a network protocol or a lasting connection between a user (or user agent) and a peer, typically a server, usually involving the exchange of many packets between the user's computer and the server.
In the case of transport protocols which do not implement a formal session layer (e.g., UDP) or where sessions at the session layer are generally very short-lived (e.g., HTTP), sessions are maintained by a higher level program using a method defined in the data being exchanged.

 Computer Science Colloquium
Given a signature scheme, the signing protocol is between a user who wants his message m signed, and the signer with public key PK.
The verification protocol is between a user who holds a signature \sigma_PK(m) and a verifier who wants to make sure that the signature held by the user is valid.
The proposed signature scheme and protocols are secure under the strong RSA assumption, and are efficient enough to be useful in practice, as a building block for the design of anonymity-enhancing cryptographic systems, such as electronic cash, group signatures, and anonymous credential systems.

 Bookworkz:: Naked Objects
Naked Objects may well herald the next major evolution in the way systems are presented to end users, and how they're developed.
Naked Objects is a Java-based open source framework that exposes behaviourally complete business objects such as Customer, Product and Order, directly to the user - without the need for scripts, controllers or even dialog boxes in between.
With Naked Objects the user presentation is generated automatically from the business object definitions, so you need never write another line of code for a user interface again!

Thread (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Threads are distinguished from traditional multi-tasking operating system processes in that processes are typically independent, carry considerable state information, have separate address spaces, and interact only through system-provided inter-process communication mechanisms.
Threads are used, for example, to enable a program to render its graphical user interface while waiting for input from the user or performing a task like spell checking.
A thread in computer science is short for a thread of execution.

Binding (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Often a computer application may allow the user to create a macro to do several common operations in sequence, and then bind a simple command to that macro to activate it.
In computer science, binding refers to the creation of a simple reference to something which is larger and more complicated and used frequently.
The Emacs text editor binds the "save-buffers-kill-emacs" command to the Control-X Control-C keystrokes in sequence, so that the user does not have to type "save-buffers-kill-emacs" whenever he wants to save and quit.

Inheritance (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The concept of inheritance may also be applied more generally to any process in computer science in which one context receives certain traits from another.
For example, in some word processor applications, stylistic attributes such as font size, layout, or color, may be inherited from a template or from another document; a user may define specific attributes for some elements, while the remaining elements inherit attributes from a global style specification.
This article is about inheritance in object-oriented programming.

Interface (computer science) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The interface between a computer and a human is called a user interface.
The Java programming language takes a different approach to the concept of the interface normally existing in other object-oriented programming languages (ie., that the interface specified is the interface to the class), in that an interface specifies a set of methods which implement some specific functionality, common to a set of classes.
One practical advantage of this arrangement is that replacing the implementation of A by another one that meets the same specifications of the interface should not cause B to fail — as long its use of A complies with the specifications of the interface (See also Liskov substitution principle).
