 | | Endocytosis provides a route of entry into the cell, for substances that benefit the cell, like nutrients, and for agents that do harm, like viruses, bacterial endotoxins, and some bacterial cells themselves. |
 | | For this, we are using a model system, studying the endocytosis of a G protein-coupled receptor in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. |
 | | When transplanted to a protein that is normally stable at the cell surface, this signal directs the ubiquitination and endocytosis of this protein as well. |
