A common newbie mistake in rubber band wars is to assume the only way to win is to shoot more rubber bands at the opponents than they are shooting at you.
They are meant to reduce the ability of an enemy to control a certain territory, and thus are the basic units of territorial advancement.
To be a true rubber band master, you must be able to execute effective offense and defense on demand, and be able to decide quickly when each is appropriate.

Swedish death-metal band Arch Enemy -- a supergroup that includes former Carcass songwriter Michael Amott; his brother, Chris Amott, from Armageddon; bassist Sharlee D'Angelo, who also plays with Mercyful Fate and In Flames drummer Daniel Erlandsson -- recently decided the only vocalist worthy of its new material is Angela Gossow.
While she worked on finishing school, she started playing in garage metal bands, although she didn't think it would lead to a career on stage.
She stayed in touch with the band, but was surprised one day when the phone rang.

Arch Enemy: Dead Eyes See No Future - PopMatters Music Review
One of the greatest, most imposing challenges in music is when a former member of a much-loved, highly influential band sets off on his own, and tries to create music that's just as great as his or her older material.
When the band dissolved later that decade, the guitarist moved on, forming Arch Enemy with his brother Christopher, also a guitarist, and over the course of five very well-received albums, Amott has found his second wind.
Along with Shadows Fall and Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy are one of the most popular bands on Century Media's deep roster of talent, and at the rate the band is going, and considering the remarkable resurgence of traditional heavy metal this year, the time for a real commercial breakthrough is nigh.

Swedish death metal band, with the exception of German vocalist Angela Gossow.
Their best original song is Ravenous, but their remake of the Judas Priest song Starbreaker (on their Rare and Unreleased disc) is probably the best song I've ever heard.
Despite being such a great band, they have yet to break out onto the forefront of popularity in metal, reaching a peak position of only #87 on the Billboard charts for sales of Doomsday Machine.

The sound is VERY experimental, despite the fact the Frank's Enemy are label "grindcore." There are all kinds of influences on this one ranging from punk to hardcore, heavy metal to grindcore, thrash metal to just plain noise.
One minute the band will be flying through a blast beat only to stop on the dime and go into some funk part.
Anyway, this song has existed as my own solo demo, a Lead demo with Andy and I on guitars, a Frank's Enemy demo using Robbie's drums from the Lead's demo but with me on everything else, a Frank's Enemy band demo (on the Qoheleth cassette), and finally (the CD's) "proper" recording.

Public Enemy's Archive Series Deserves Release! Petition
Both of these rationales for the burying of Public Enemy's audio/video archives do a disservice to both the group and the fans of their music, who have been loyally buying their records, tapes and CDs since 1987.
As a rebuttal to the audio/sampling rationale, Public Enemy's entire Def Jam/Universal catalog is still being actively solicited to stores and sold, thus, continuing to put out the records in single-disc form should have no bearing on putting them out in a special re-released 2-disc package.
We, the fans of Public Enemy, would look very harshly upon the practices of Def Jam/Universal, if this situation is not rectified in a satisfactory mannner-- specifically, cooperating with Public Enemy members to release all of their planned special archival products.

Foiling the predictions of many (including several of the band's members), PE survived and continued to thrive, releasing the stark Apocalypse '91: The Enemy Strikes Black to typically great acclaim.
As hiphop plunged into the brain-dead hedonism of "gangsta rap," Public Enemy were relegated to relic status, and those of us who'd listened to the band out of duty no longer felt so compelled.
Revisiting the band's catalog over the past few years, I was shocked at what I found—a body of work positing Public Enemy as the most original, vital, and flat-out best band America has ever produced.

Six To Rage 'n' Thrash By: Arch Enemy, Cadaver Inc., Death, Kreator, Lock Up, and Summon by Matt Tulini
Earache made their mark producing grind/noise bands like Carcass, Napalm Death, and now the venomous Cadaver, Inc. The band has gained notoriety because their website is a very realistic-looking hoax of a company that specializes in cleaning up murder scenes and disposing of bodies.
Filmed at the Whiskey in LA during the band's final tour in 1998 and hastily rushed to production in 2001 (one wonders if they ever even planned to release a Death video), they tacked the second title Death and Raw onto this release probably because they were not satisfied with the sound and picture quality.
They may or may not achieve the success or the image of some of the more famous fl metal bands (Immortal, Emperor, etc), but this is a quality album that shouldn't be overlooked by anyone who enjoys brutal, uncompromising fl metal.
