England's women's U-21 cricket team are celebrating in Dublin tonight having won the inaugural U-21 European Cup by comprehensively beating the hosts today.
Earlier this week, England beat Holland U21s by eight wickets, with Thompson, who had played for the England senior team in last month's One-Day International triangular tournament, again top-scoring with 35*.
England had dismissed Holland for just 53 runs in a reduced over match and took ten overs to reach the target.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has appointed the Australian John Harmer as Head Coach of the England Women's Cricket Team.
John Harmer is a world-class cricket coach, and led the Australia women's cricket team to two World Cup finals in his eight years in charge of the squad from 1992-2000.
In line with the ECB National Strategy for Cricket launched last week, this is part of a long-term, planned approach, which aims to see England's women in the top two in the world by 2007.
