Battle of Eniwetok - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Battle of Eniwetok was a battle of the Pacific campaign of World War II, fought between 17 February 1944 and 23 February 1944 on Eniwetok Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
Naval bombardment of Eniwetok began on 17 February and the 22nd Marine Regiment, commanded by Colonel John T. Walker, landed on Engebi Island, on the north side of the atoll, on 18 February at 08:44.
Captured documents suggested that the defences on Eniwetok Island would be light, and accordingly there was only a short bombardment on 19 February before the 106th Infantry Regiment went ashore.

Enewetak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Enewetak (or Eniwetok) is an atoll in the Marshall Islands of the central Pacific Ocean.
Note that this award does not include the approximately $6 million annually budgeted by the U.S. for education and health programs in the Marshall Islands.
The U.S. government referred to the atoll as "Eniwetok" until 1974, when it changed its official spelling to "Enewetak" (along with many other Marshall Islands place names) to more properly reflect their proper pronunciation by the Marshall Islanders.

Eniwetok was also eminently appropriate for its relatively isolated location with an empty ocean area downwind, its small native population that would have to be relocated, the low likelihood of contaminating neighboring atolls, ease of logistic support, and favorable year-round climatic conditions.
Eniwetok is located at latitude 11o21' N and longitude 162o20' E; Bikini lies 165 miles almost directly to the east, at latitude 11o35'N and longitude 165o20'E. About 47 small islands comprise Eniwetok atoll, which is about 20 miles wide and 30 miles long.
Eniwetok island, at the southeastern edge of the lagoon, had been the location of a World War II U.S. bomber base.

 Specific Arguments - Coral Reef
Since the Eniwetok coral reef was neither destroyed by Noah's flood nor covered with a thick layer of sedimentary rock, we may safely assume that, according to the creationist scenario, it grew after the flood.
It is of course true that no one is able to determine the exact length of time which was required for growing such an extensive reef, but it is obvious that it was a very long process.
Thus a reasonably good reconstruction of the history of the Eniwetok atoll has been made, by taking note of the rock and sediment types, the many kinds of marine fossils, the distinct unconformities, and the kinds of pollen and other remains of terrestrial life.
