 Joyce Grenfell (1910-1979)
(ENSA stands for Entertainments National Service Association which was set up to provide drama, cinema and musical entertainment to the troops at home and abroad during WWII.
Joyce credits this experience as the time she grew "working muscles and learned techniques that allowed [her] to be spontaneous and ready to improvise." She was awarded the O.B.E. for this wartime service in 1946.
