Entropy (anonymous data store) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Entropy is a decentralized, peer-to-peer communication network designed to be resistant to censorship, much like Freenet.
The term "Entropy" is an acronym for "Emerging Network To Reduce Orwellian Potency Yield," referring to George Orwell's famous novel Nineteen Eighty-Four and its totalitarian thought police enslaving people by controlling their information.
Entropy was written somewhat in response to Freenet.

Entropy (computing) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ENTROPY (which stands for Emerging Network To Reduce Orwellian Potency Yield) was developed as a response to increased censorship and surveillance of the internet.
The main reason for any degree of anonymity on the Entropy-Network is the fact that no records of any datum transfers are kept; in other words, there is no possibility of anyone, by consulting a record, discovering the identity of persons sending or receiving information.
ENTROPY is licensed with a GNU General Public License.

Entropy is a network which guarentees its users anonymity.
Entropy, however, sustains its own separate network from its cousin Freenet.
It is relatively easy to use, and is much quicker than its older cousin, although the content on the Entropy network is not yet as large or diverse.

The Paranormal Network - Entropy, from Grayson
Entropy, as expressed by the Second law, is the ultimate Natural law because it determines the flow of what we call "time".
During this process the entropy, the randomness of the system consisting of the water and the metal, increases and no further useful work can be performed because there is no longer a temperature differential between the water and the metal: The system has become randomized.
Entropy ensures that sugar, which becomes more randomized when it is dissolved in water, will not reconstitute itself in the crystalline form -- unless we apply heat energy from outside the system and evaporate the water.

Entropy is of fundamental importance to fields such as thermodynamics, information theory, and complexity theory, but it has also been used to great effect in economics, biology, and many material sciences.
Thus, as far as information and entropy are concerned, the distribution of seed points, the triangulation of those points, and the VD network are all equivalent (each one fully specifies the others).
I believe that it is possible to produce a lower bound on the total entropy of the VD network by looking at the entropy density of a sequence of graphs from the Delaunay triangulation of increasing diameter.

Flexible Update Propagation for Weakly Consistent Replication
So far, the paper has presented a reconciliation protocol that supports different networking environments and reconciliation policies, is incremental, and allows servers to manage the storage resources and performance of their write-logs to their best convenience.
Similarly, policies for choosing with whom to perform anti-entropy can depend on multiple factors: which other replicas are reachable, the network characteristics of the connection to these replicas, the up-to-dateness of the replicas, whether the replicas have truncated too many entries from their logs, and which replica is serving as the primary.
In the graph, the network transfer time is subdivided into four categories: time to marshall and unmarshall the RPC data, time related to transfer actual message information, time to transmit each write's public key and the overhead to transmit the update schema information and data padding for each write.

ONLamp.com: Calculating Entropy for Data Miners
The main difference is that the joint entropy formula has two summation signs instead of one, and the probability distribution being summed over is a joint probability distribution instead of a univariate probability distribution.
The calculation of the joint entropy score is the same as the calculation of the univariate entropy score.
The joint entropy score thus signifies the minimum number of questions you need to ask, on average, to identify a signal coming from this bivariate distribution of signals.

Information theory, and an introduction to chapters 4-6
The simplifications which lie behind most neural network models are that the signal frequency can convey a continuous signal, and that the neurons alter their behaviour by adjusting their synapse strengths, so changing how much or how little a particular input affects the neuron.
The statistics that the network works with may not always be of a clean mathematical type, such as calculation of the principal components of the input distribution, but I think that regarding the processing of a neural network as being statistical ensures that one has a realistic expectation of its capabilities.
The inputs to the networks are identical in each case, and are generated from random numbers in such a way that the first principal component of the data is horizontal, the second vertical, and any others are naturally perpendicular to the first two, so cannot be easily shown.

Network Metrics   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
Connections have been made between generalized Renyi entropies and network topologies which suggest that entropy-based functions and spectra could serve as a set of metrics for a useful description of networks such as the internet.
Specifically, the entropy spectra of the connection matrix have been shown, under some circumstances, to detect cluster topology and other flow patterns in simulated environments.
Workshops have been held to design the experiments to validate the theoretical hypothesis of Phase I – that entropy based metrics can, under some circumstances, detect network intrusions, and specifically, that the total Renyi entropy, the spectra of row and column Renyi entropies, and the entropies of these spectra can detect changing network topologies.

The technique, known as the Optimized Entropy Network (O-E-Net), has been used on several applications ranging from high speed signal processing to vision systems.

Entropy Gradient Reversals - The Rise of the Stupid Network
A new network "philosophy and architecture," is replacing the vision of an Intelligent Network.
Instead of fancy "intelligent" network routing translation, in a Stupid Network, intelligent end-user devices would be connected to one or more high speed access networks - always listening for relevant information, for data addressed to their owner.
End user devices would be free to behave flexibly because, in the Stupid Network the data is boss, bits are essentially free, and there is no assumption that the data is of a single data rate or data type.
