Entwash - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, the Entwash was a great river in Rohan, notable for its huge inland delta.
The Entwash, a translation of the Sindarin name Onodló, had its sources in the springs that arose on Mount Methedras, the southernmost peak of the Misty Mountains, near Treebeard's home.
The Entwash was named for the Ents (Onodrim) of Fangorn, but the origin of the name was largely forgotten by the Rohirrim.

Its drainage basin was the entirety of Rohan, from Fangorn Forest and The Wold, south to the White Mountains.
Leaving Fangorn, the Entwash flowed to the southeast for a while and acted as a southwest boundary for The Wold.
The volume of water carried by the Entwash was so great by this time that the Anduin could contain it and its flow spread out over the Anduin's eastern banks, forming the vast, growing marshland known as the Nindalf (Wetwang).
