The Eparchy of Zahumlje and Herzegovina (Serbian language Cyrillic : Епархија захумско-херцеговачка) is a bishopric of the Serb Orthodox Church with its seat in Mostar, temporarly transferred to the Tvrdoš near Trebinje (in the southernmost part of Bosnia-Herzegovina).
The Eparchy of Zahumlje and Herzegovina was originally founded in 1219, by Saint Sava, the very same year the Serbian Orthodox Church acquired its autocephaly from Orthodox Church of Constantinople.
When Hum was taken over by the Bosnia (region) n ban (title) in the 14th century, the see of the eparchy was moved to the Milesevo.

The oldest immigrant community, dating back to the mid eighteenth century, is the Vojvodina (historic Backa) and Srem regions of former Yugoslavia, that is, present day northern Serbia and far eastern Croatia.
With regard to church jurisdiction, the Greek Catholic eparchies of Mukacevo(Ukraine), Presov (Slovakia) Hajdudorog (Hungary), and Krizevci (former Yugoslavia), as well as the Archdiocese/Metropolitan Province of Pittsburgh (United States) are each self-governing and under the direct authority of the Vatican.
The Orthodox eparchy of Mukacevo-Uzhorod is part of the Ukrainian Orthodox (not Autocephalous) Church; the eparchy of Presov is within n the Czechoslovak Autocephalous Orthodox Church; and the eparchy of Sanok-Przemsyl is in the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church.

The Library has valuable books in foreign languages, also from the 18th and the 19th century, among which the collection of works in Hungarian and Russian are of special significance.
The Matica Srpska Library has arranged the library of the oldest Serbian Secondary School in Sremski Karlovci into a museum-type library, and the arrangements for the Backa Eparchy library in Novi Sad are in progress.

He assessed that only such an assembly could be a negotiator and equal partner to international institutions and state of Serbia for “establishing a correct system in Kosovo” and calming down of state-of-affairs.
