County, in west central Georgia on the border with Alabama, is the state's seventy-seventh county.
According to the 2000 U.S. census, the population of Heard County is 11,012 (87.5 percent white, 10.8 percent fl, and 1.1 percent Hispanic), a 27.6 percent increase since 1990.
