Agis Page of miniature painting and gaming - EPIC 40.000
At first glance you might think to yourself, "Epic 40,000 is just a smaller version of Warhammer 40,000, right?" Well, the answer to that is "No it's not, but there is a connection." The Warhammer 40,000 universe is a wide, rich and diverse place where the only real constant is complete and unending war.
Warhammer 40,000 is a 28mm squad based game which utilizes forces of about 50-100 models in an average conflict.
On the other hand, Epic 40,000 tackles the more tactical and sweeping conflicts which take place between entire armies or groups of armies on a much larger scale than Warhammer 40,000.

Warhammer 40,000 brings the war-torn universe of the 41st Millennium onto your tabletop: the ceaseless din of gunfire, thunderous explosions, the rumble of passing tanks, and the high-pitched whining of anti-gravitic motors screaming overhead.
Epic is the game of mass combat set in the nightmare future of the 41st millennium.
These are not simply the battles of man against man. Epic battles feature immense armies of infantry, legions of tanks and giant war engines such as the bipedal Titans and super-heavy tanks armed with weapons normally seen on starships.

Where Epic Space Marine required additional supplements along with their own rulebooks, counters, and templates, Epic 40k was able to fit everything into a rulebook, army list book, and a hobby and scenerio book.

The game is typically best known as the first of the Warhammer games to fully recreate the experience of the table-top game on a computer unlike other games which simply used the setting to create a RTS or FPS.
The game borrows heavily in terms of rules and style from the original table-top game of Epic and the background of Warhammer 40,000, demanding a combination of luck and tactics necessary to succeed in game warfare.
