EPIC was established in 1994 to focus public attention on emerging civil liberties issues and to protect privacy, the First Amendment, and constitutional values.
Hofmann's work at EPIC focuses on litigation as well as governmental and commercial privacy Issues, including data mining initiatives and air travel privacy.
Mark Lemley is the Elizabeth Josslyn Boalt Chair in Law at the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, and a co-Director of the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology.
