Epoxies are polymer materials that begin life as liquids and are converted to the solid polymers by a chemical reaction.
An epoxy based polymer is mechanically strong, chemically resistant to degradation of the chemical elements in the solid form and highly adhesive during conversion from liquid to solid.
Epoxies are known for their excellent adhesion, chemical and heat resistance, good to excellent mechanical properties and very good electrical insulating properties.
Epoxy Systems' Polyester Wood Filler is designed primarily for wood model shops for making permanent repairs, fillets, and design changes in the construction of all wood models and patterns.
Epoxy Systems Product #431 is a two component, flame retardant foam especially manufactured to provide a rigid foam with physical properties similar to that of timber or cement grouts, at a convenient one to one ratio, A to B, light fl in color.
Epoxy Systems' PRODUCT #1800 is recommended for use in areas such as tanks, cooling tower linings, water and wastewater and waterproof deck coatings.
Epoxy products are used for paints and other surface coatings, molded and reinforcedplastics, electronic component potting resins, and adhesives ranging from spray foams to dental cement.
Epoxyresin systems are made up of an epoxyresin and a curing agent (also called a hardener or catalyst).
The characteristics of hardened epoxies (such as whether they are firm or flexible, or resistant to heat or chemicals) depend on which epoxy monomers, curing agents, solvents, and fillers are added.

In general, epoxies are known for their excellent adhesion, chemical and heat resistance, good to excellent mechanical properties and very good electrical insulating properties, but almost any property can be modified (for example silver-filled epoxies with good electrical conductivity are widely available even though epoxies are typically electrically insulating).
Epoxyadhesives are a major part of the class of adhesives called "structural adhesives" or "engineering adhesives" (which also includes polyurethane, acrylic, cyanoacrylate, and other chemistries.) These high performance adhesives are used in the construction of airplanes, automobiles, bikes, golf clubs, skis, snow boards, and many other applications where high strength bonds are required.
Epoxies typically are not used in the outer layer of a boat because they are negatively affected by long term exposure to UV light.
Epoxyresin is an excellent moisture barrier coating for wood or fiberglass; when it is used with the proper fillers, it's a versatile fairing compound.
Epoxy is a chemical product, and you must carefully follow all of the manufacturer's instructions.
Fillers are additives that modify the epoxy for use as a gap-filling adhesive or fairing compound.
Epoxy is a lot stiffer than polyesterresin and about 3-4 times the cost of polyesterresin and it is only as good as the material that goes with it, like "S" glass, Carbon or Kevlar to get the full mechanical strength value.
Epoxy (room temperature cure types, as commonly used in boats and boards) breaks down at lower temperatures than polyester (some common epoxies break down and go soft at 120 degrees F) and reacts/breaks down more quickly in UV light.
Epoxy works with Cabosil and other fillers as well as Polyester, but you are stuck with (sorry about that choice of words) the Part A (resin) to Part B (hardener) mix, which dries slowly.
This Resin System will produce a low viscosity, semi-clear, low odor epoxy that is not only ideal for layup use, but also as a sealer of porous substrates such as wood because of its penetrating power.
Epoxyresins require a hardener to initiate curing which is included in the kit.
This is the amount of time after the epoxy is applied in a thin film that it will arrive at a gel state, still wet, but no longer a liquid.
Epoxy is a three-piece band from the Washington, DC area.
Epoxy’s critically acclaimed debut CD in 2002, Nothing Else, exploded on the music scene, and their Killing Fields video was named one of 2003’s top 25 indie videos.
"Epoxy is the evolution of the last 20 years of rock, a mixture of garage, grunge and punk, stirred up with stellar musicianship.

Class A epoxies are intended for use when the temperature is below 40F and Class C epoxies for over 60F.
An epoxy- when in a paste consistency form- can be applied on overhead or vertical applications.
Describes the basic use to which ASTM-formulated epoxies are intended (i.e., Type 1 is an adhessive for old to old surfaces; Type 2 is for bonding new to old concrete; Type 3 are binder/coating (skid resistance).

I will seal these both in with epoxyresin and overlay the stringers and the cracked area with 6 ounce fiberglass cloth and epoxyresin as well.
Epoxy injections are spotty, heavy and may not offer a complete cure.
With a sharp utility knife cut the epoxy around the insert hole and remove the protective masking tape.
Combining the strength of epoxyresin with the hardness of steel, this repair and moldingcompound becomes extremely hard, solid metals within 2 to 3 hours after application.
New patterns or duplicate made of Magic Epoxy Steel cost but a fraction of the expense of producing the same design in wood and they have demonstrated considerably greater resistance to damage in handling and storage.
Magic Epoxy Steel may be used to build up shallow areas or holes in the casting without undercutting or any special treatment of the metal.
The pumps supplied by West System are also a very handy way to dispense the epoxy into a cup with just the right mixture ratio.
They can be mixed into the epoxy to achieve the desired viscosity ranging from that like maple syrup to that of peanut butter and everything in between.
If you only need a very small amount of epoxy, it is also very easy to dispense it without a mixing nozzle.
Because epoxy is gap filling, you are assured of structural integrity with less than perfect joints.
In fact an epoxy joint that has a quarter-inch gap is stronger than one that is extremely tight fitting.
With epoxy coating, an amateur can build a boat which is as maintenance-free as a production fiberglass boat while retaining the easy building and inherent strength of a wooden boat.
My hope is that this test shows how clear coating epoxies behave with or without varnish and most of all, how much care needs to be taken to protect our craft from sun damage.
A combination of a liquid epoxyresin and hardener creates a chemically inert plastic that can be cast to any shape, used as a filler, glue, or coating of a wide range of mechanical properties.
Which epoxy will discolor the least and maintain the best clarity (varnished or unvarnished) over a long period of time (at least one year).
Water based floor epoxies, being water based, soak into the floor a bit, providing a superior bond and less likelihood of coating failure, thus it can be a good primer coat or a finished topcoat.
Epoxies will yellow in direct sunlight (the waterbased epoxies are not so bad) so to protect them from UV yellowing, keep them shiny, and more scratch resistant, topcoat the epoxy or epoxy chip floor with our two part acrylic polyurthane with UV blockers.
Floor epoxies generally stick well to 'good' cement, but primers tend to 'soak into' the cement a bit and provide even a better bond and thus a lower chance of problems.
Application: Surfaces to receive epoxy must be clean and sound.
Epoxy should not be installed in or through standing water.
To warm cold material, the cartridges should be stored in a warm, uniformly heated area or storage container for a sufficient time to allow epoxy to warm completely.

Mikhailtech - Arctic Silver II Epoxy Review(Site not responding. Last check: )
While it's not meant for your processor's heatsink because it's permanent, AS2 epoxy is designed for use with heatsinks that don't attach in any natural way.
I know the actual heatsinks play a role here, but without effective conductivity on behalf of the AS2 epoxy it would be very minute.
It's a great thing to have for overclockers and is probably the best epoxy you can get for permanently attaching ramsinks to video cards and the like.
