Difference feminism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Difference feminism is a branch of feminism that stresses that men and women are essentially very different beings, instead of past feminisms of equality that stress a fundamental sameness between men and women in some way.
Difference feminisms may have arisen due to issues with legislation - equality feminisms may have assured that women have gotten suffrage for one, as well as other rights, but for more important and influential changes (for example, medical related support), the assertion that women are different was necessary to make.
Difference feminism was important in responding to problems resulting to women not being given proper provision for differing needs that they may have; for example biological reasons such as for childbirth, and others.

Liberal feminism does not mean that women should become more like men, but that women should have the same legal rights of citizenship afforded men, that they should have equal access to the existing culture.
If feminism and the women's movement mean advocacy of and enthusiasm for the inalienable human rights and achievements of women, then feminism must strive to redress inequalities in the protection and distribution of those rights.

Biblical equality is a consequence of God's act of salvation in the new covenant, as indicated in Galatians 3:26-28, which states that we are all "sons," or heirs, in Christ, and that there is no longer any distinction in spiritual privilege or prerogative between Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female.
Equality is reflected in the biblical doctrine of the priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:5, 9; Rev. 1:6), and in repeated New Testament exhortations to believers to honor one another and to be humble and submissive toward one another (Matt.

Equality feminists believe that both men and women, while unquestionably biologically and anatomically different, enter the world with the genetic inheritance of a mother and a father and from that respect human nature is androgynous, neutral, and equal.

Equality feminism relies on the (largely misconceived) dogma that gender differences are social constructs, and it prescribes equal treatment for girls and boys in education, careers and domestic situations.
Liberation feminism (a related concept is "maternal feminism") takes it for granted that there should be equality of opportunity and remuneration, but regards biologically-based differences as important, especially in cognitive abilities, mating interests, and mothering — a term which equality feminism repudiated in favour of "parenting".

Given this, I think that feminism is a "full idealogy" because it involves an entire restructuring/rethinking of much of what we have experienced in our lifetimes---and even for most of this country's and your country's existence.
Others prefer fl feminism because retaining the adjective makes racial experience more visible, and because failing to use the more familiar noun might be seen as deserting some of its basic beliefs and/or controversies; for instance, the false notion that feminism is synonymous with lesbianism, as opposed to including all females.

Feminism is a popularly misconstrued movement that is often associated with burning bras and the superiority of the female over the male, although both are true for parts of feminism’s history.
It would be also misguided to assume that the term “feminism” could be replaced with “equalism” because feminism identifies itself with women’s rights and equality rather than the equal rights of everyone.
The first wave of feminism, termed “equality feminism,” was the movement of women demanding full legal equality, full educational and commercial opportunity, the right to collect wages, and the right to vote.

The vision of such an equality is to be found in the rich tradition of individualist feminism which flourished in the 19th century and is emerging once more.
Individualist feminism -- or ifeminism -- is generally based on natural law theory and on the derivative belief that all human beings are sovereign, or self-owners.
One of the key ideological differences between socialist and individualist feminism resides in the concept of "class." A class is nothing more than an arbitrarily grouping of people who share a common characteristic, and the characteristic chosen depends entirely upon the purposes of the person defining the class.

Socialist Feminism: Is It Really Just A Class Issue?
Whereas liberal feminism defines equality as comparable to the male status within society, socialist feminism defines equality as a condition onto itself and seeks to create this condition outside of a capitalist society.
Socialist feminism argues the same position with one small difference: It applies socialist theory to gender issues, especially within the working class, and seeks to understand the nature of women's roles in society.
And though socialist feminism fails to adequately address the male-female issue of power, it is steeped in a long and rich history of social politics, daring to envision a better world in which everyone is equal, free to pursue their dreams, and granted a safe and secure place in the world.

I think a large part of the reason that conservative efforts to articulate ideas about women’s equality have been so poor is that they were begun entirely in the political arena as a response to the perceived political power of the feminist movement.
