  Equilibristics
Equilibristics refers to a number of 'circus arts' and juggling skills in which the main prop is is rotated around it's own center of gravity.
Couch juggling, where the juggler lays on his or her back, balancing an upended sofa on the soles of the feet...
Perhaps the most well-known of the equilibristic arts is the twirling of batons, and the use of the juggling prop known as Devil Sticks.

Devil sticks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Devil stick ( also Devil Stick, devilstick, devil-stick etc., or plural forms) manipulation is a form of gyroscopic juggling, or equilibristics and is generally considered to be one of the 'circus arts'.
Some modern devil sticks have soft ends for safety - it is actually quite possible to knock oneself unconscious with some of the faster, harder, heavier 'unpadded' batons.
These are often colorfully decorated and are known variously as Quick Stix, Crystal Stix, Hippie Sticks, Equilibristicks (a play on the word ' equilibristics '), Trick Sticks and many other names.

 Chunking
Because matrices are stored row-contiguous in C, in order to achieve the above pattern we can simply divide the dataset into four contiguous portions and assign each to a separate process.
This is, in fact, the most efficient way of partitioning a dataset and you should stick to this, unless you really have to subject yourself to the kind of equilibristics we have been talking about in the last 3 sections (including this one).
So, the partition we are going to implement in the following example will not be contiguous.
