Embroiled in an ongoing acrimonious relationship with City Councilman Eric Gioia (D-Woodside), Marshall intervened last spring and asked Conley to step down from CB 2’s top post for six months in order “to help bridge the gap” and allow for a cooling-off period.
Marshall’s request for Conley to step down as chairman of CB 2 was met with resistance from an overwhelming majority of board members, and some countered Switzer’s statements by saying that it was Gioia who should reach out to Conley.
Conley said he was happy for the support that CB 2 has shown him, and that it was Cooper’s efforts as chairman that kept the board running smoothly.
