Eric Illsley MP, patron of Barnsley Alzheimers Society, attended a buffet on Sunday the 26th January at the Keel Inn in Stairfoot to accept a cheque on behalf of the Society from staff at the Tesco Supermarket.
Eric Illsley, MP for Barnsley Central, will be campaigning around his constituency this winter to encourage people to claim Labour’s new tax credits and get what they are entitled to.

Mr Illsley did not think he would make the call himself on Tuesday but said that if the committee was in favour he would support it.

The Caravan Club’s chairman, Bob Black, recently announced the formation of a new All-Party Parliamentary Group for Caravanning, which has been initiated by David Amess, MP for Southend West, and Eric Illsley, MP for Barnsley Central.
The new group will have MPs and Lords as members and will meet to discuss issues affecting caravanners; and, says Mr Black, it will be an excellent way for the interests of the caravanning community to be represented in the corridors of power.
Mr Illsley said: “There are a number of keen caravanners in Parliament, and this all-party group will provide an effective forum for discussion on caravanning issues… it’s right that the importance of caravanning is better recognised now in Westminster.”
