Ericson's two-story depot, built 1888, became the first recorded "conversion," conversion into a church, that is. A Methodist congregation acquired the Ericson CBandQ depot in 1940.

The nation's bi-centennial was commemorated in 1976, and Ericson's centennial was celebrated in 1987.
