Erik Bruhn met Rudolf Nureyev, the celebrated Russian dancer, who was on a tour in Denmark.
Bruhn became Nureyev's lover, his closest friend, and his protector (mainly from his own folly) for many years.

At first I was doubtful of Bruhn's interpretation of Albrecht's variation (quite different from the usual), but his excellent turning ability and precision gave it a new edge.

My, I didn't know that Stephen Legate had won the Erik Bruhn prize.
My understanding of it was that in Bruhn's will he had specified that only the ABT, National Ballet of Canada, RB and Royal Dabish Ballet could take part.
Best of luck to Montana who I think is a most elegant dancer.
