Erispoë was a Duke of Brittany, who succeeded his father Nominoë in 851.
Erispoë met Charles II in Angers in the days following the battle and agreed a peace treaty in return for the recognition of Breton independence, as well as territorial concessions.
Erispoë married Marmohec and had at least two children including a boy named Conan, and a girl.

Brittany was conquered in 799 by emperor Charlemagne, who had after that to lead military expeditions to fight breton rebellions in 801 and 811.
Following Alan II's death in 952, Brittany is disputed between the Houses of Nantes and Rennes, until 990, when count Conan of Rennes pacifies the duchy under his control.
