On the death of Ernst Schwarz (1957-2001) A fighter for socialist perspectives in the workplace
Ernst Schwarz made no secret of his conviction that the only genuine solution to the problems which arose in the workplace was for workers to take up socialist perspectives and fight on that basis.
Ernst Schwarz joined the Bund Sozialistischer Arbeiter (BSA—predecessor organisation to the PSG) as a youth of 17-18 years in the early 1970s.
Ernst Schwarz was a determined opponent of the Stalinist regimes and the bureaucracies dominating the working class long before the coming down of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of East Germany.

Funeral for Ernst Schwarz held in Dortmund, Germany
The funeral of Ernst Schwarz took place on January 22 at the main cemetery in the German city of Dortmund.
Schwarz was for many years a member of the German Socialist Equality Party (Partei für Soziale Gleichheit--PSG) and a longtime fighter for socialist perspectives at the Krupp Hoesch steelworks.
Ernst was surrounded by three aggressive stewards, but instead of using the metal pole of the banner to beat them flat—anyone meeting Ernst knew that he possessed the physical strength to do so—he sought to argue with them.

Ernst Wolfgang Caspari was an important contributor to behavior and developmental genetics, working primarily on the mealmoth Ephestia.
As a doctoral student and assistant professor at the University of Göttingen, Ernst Caspari was part of Alfred Kuhn's research team investigating the developmental genetics of the mealmoth Ephestia kuhniella.
In his groundbreaking work on the effects of a pleiotropic gene, Caspari helped establish the basis for sorting out the complex relationship between genes and the temporal and spatial sequence of events in ontogeny, and he contributed to Kuhn's "one gene, one enzyme" hypothesis.
