I've always been a fan of Enrique Iglesias English work and so the first time I heard Hero I was a little disapointed I couldn't help but wonder where the uptempo party tunes like 'Bailamos' and 'Rhythm Devine' had gone to.
But the album really comes alive on the second track 'Don't Turn Off The Lights' a light rock track with a shouty chorus which will most likely have you jumping up and down and singing a long, the only bad thing about this track is that it wasn't released as a single in the UK.

If money is the great influence, then call Enrique Iglesias the most influential Latin music artist in the world, having sold a record-breaking number of albums over a stretch of several years.
Escape is a pop/rock album through and through, and it is also reminiscent of classic pop albums of the 1980s -- short (ten original songs), sweet, and wildly catchy.
Though Iglesias' songs always turn up as remixes and at dance clubs, and though he could just as easily thicken the sound effects to overtake the basic melodies, he remains reserved in sound and lyric.

Iglesias is at his best when playing a little sly, like when he appropriates Nelly's "E.I." chant on "Don't Turn Off the Lights" or makes a barely veiled suggestion of what he really likes about you in the opening lines of "She Be the One." --Rickey Wright
The first track "Escape" makes you feel like dancing, the lyrics are good and the rhythm is even better, the same happens with songs like: "I love to see you cry", "Don't turn off the lights" and love songs that are also included on this production, such as the Top 3 "Hero", are very good.
