[3] King Eshmunazar must have lived in the fourth century B.C., this is generally admitted on account of the form of the sarcophagus, which was certainly Egyptian; there are even in the middle of it traces of hieroglyphs which have been erased.
On the contrary it is a quotation of a hymn or of a funeral chant, otherwise it would not have been repeated.
If it were a historical account referring to Eshmunazar's life-time, it would have been sufficient to state the fact once.

These necropoli have yielded numerous sarcophagi including those of the kings of Sidon, Eshmunazar and Tabnit (from the fifth century BC), and the famous "Alexander" sarcophagus dating to the Hellenistic period depicting battle and hunting scenes.
The second source of information on Sidon's past comes from a site called bostan esh-sheikh, three kilometres south-east of the city near the banks of the Awali river where the Temple of Eshmun (god of healing identified with Asclepios) was discovered.
It was in the ruins of this temple that inscriptions of Bodashtart, king of the sidonians and grandson of Eshmunazar, were found, the contents of which indicate that they were two ancient Sidons.

 The Free Emirate of CARTHAGE
Brutally invaded again from the desert, the Army of Carthage strikes back against the invader, driving them from their lands and retaking and liberating her citizens; sadly, some remain under the sway of the invader.
Yet the invader is defeated; the stalwart General Eshmunazar, pursuing the jihadis, acting upon Carthaginian intelligence that Sweden-Russia has moved against Carthage's ally the Duchy of Poland, moves in turn to invade Graasland, in the Swedish Exarchate of Afriqa.
To heap insult upon injury, the Duchy also seizes representatives of the International Red Kross, who have come to Augostina to succor her besieged populace.

Tabnit was the son of the Sidonian king Eshmunazar-his coffin inscription makes that clear.
He was also the father of another Eshmunazar who was buried nearby in another fl basalt sarcophagus that is now in the Louvre.
The sarcophagus of the second Eshmunazar has a very long inscription on it that confirms descent from his father, Tabnit.

 Los Lunas Decalogue - Epigraphy
It was only after the Jewish return from the Babylonian exile in 539 B.C.E. that their scribes started to develop their own script known as square-Hebrew, even though some old-Hebrew writings continued to be produced till the early Roman era.
Some of the known Middle Eastern carved inscriptions which bear a resemblence to the Los Lunas inscription style are those from the Eshmunazar Sarcophagus, Jewish Seals, the Nerab Stelae or the Bar Rakab Inscription.
The Los Lunas letters are mostly vertically or horizontally aligned, without going beneath their baseline, while their Middle Eastern counterparts tend to be more diagonally stretched, including droppings below their baseline.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Malediction
But though cursing plays a very prominent part in the Bible, we rarely find irrational curses in the mouths of Biblical characters.
Nowhere do we find in the Bible curses on those who shall violate the tombs of the dead, such as we find everywhere in Egypt and Babylonia, or on the sarcophagus of Eshmunazar at Sidon.
We referred above to the hrm, or "anathema".

However, many less notorious ancient tombs did have curses inscribed on them.
One especially detailed curse, dating from about 350 BC, was made on the tomb of a king who had ruled a Middle Eastern province: "I, Tabnith, priest of Ashtart, King of the Sidonians, son of Eshmunazar, priest of Ashtart, King of the Sidonians, lie in this coffin.
My curse be with whatever man thou art that bringest forth this coffin!
