Kid Eternity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kid Eternity is a comic book superhero who first premiered in Hit Comics #25, published by Quality Comics in December, 1942.
By the late 1940s, however, Quality Comics was experiencing the post-war bust that most superhero comics were.
The Kid was given the power to summon people by saying "Eternity", but these people he summoned were actually demons who assumed the form of the figures he desired.

Kid Eternity - PopMatters Comic Book Review
Kid Eternity, a three-issue mini-series that first appeared in 1991, is the latest to be collected and repackaged, and while it was not technically a Vertigo comic when it was originally released (Vertigo was launched in 1993), it shares the same hybrid horror/fantasy sensibilities.
The original version of the Kid Eternity character was a fairly oddball concept birthed during the golden age of comics in 1942.
Despite the odds to the contrary, Kid Eternity holds up all right, although stylistically it pretty much falls a bit too much in line with other early Vertigo and pre-Vertigo books and doesn't quite match the brilliance and originality that Morrison proved he was capable of both before and after this series.

 Robotech Comic Universe - INTRODUCTION
A part of the Malibu Publishing Group, Eternity began their association with Robotech in 1988 by releasing a monthly fl and white title based on the unfinished Robotech II: The Sentinels TV series, based at first on the original scripts for the series, and later based strongly on Jack McKinney's five Sentinels novels.
Eternity soon branched out into other corners of the Robotech universe, publishing two mini-series (The Malcontent Uprisings and Cyberpirates) under the Sentinels banner before recieving the rights from Harmony Gold to produce comics based on the entire spectrum of the Robotech universe.
After losing the Robotech comic license in the end of 1996 due apparently to Harmony Gold's dissatisfaction with their overall quality, Academy Comics was going to publish a new mecha series by the Waltrips entitled Noble A.R.M.O.U.R. Halberder, but only one issue was published.

Eternity was first reveal when Doctor Strange attempted to contact him in order to gain his aid in fighting Dormammu.

The War Of The Worlds, the comics of Mars, part 1
The earliest example of a comic book version of The War Of The Worlds was created for the Classics Illustrated series, a particularly renowned and long running collection that took great pains to present well crafted adaptations of famous literary properties.
Superman publisher DC Comics never attempted an adapation of The War Of The Worlds, but in 1973 their biggest competitor Marvel spun off an entirely new story, set in the aftermath of a 2nd successful Martian invasion of Earth in the year 2001.
The Dark Horse Comics version of the War Of The Worlds is one of the most faithful adapatations of the original novel.

Back when, Kid Eternity was a guy untimely killed by Nazis, for which the heavenly powers atone by returning him to Earth with a supernatural guardian, Mr.
Quality Comics sold their line to DC Comics in the mid-1950's and there Kid remained, relatively forgotten outside of a few cameo appearances until Morrison's dark revision in this mini-series.
The events are really secondary to the revelations about Kid Eternity's true origins as his past is changed just as radically as Swamp Things was just a few years earlier, and in much the same manner although by the more accomplished pen of Alan Moore.

 Kid Eernity: Billy Batson's Cousin?
There are more than just a few similarities between the first Kid Eternity story and the original Captain Marvel all of which are overshadowed by the huge “coincidence” of the Kid and Billy Batson both being able to change into powerful characters simply by shooting off their mouths.
And most golden age aficionados also know that when Kid Eternity shouts his magic word, Eternity, he is “able to call on any person in mythology or history”.
This the Kid accomplishes by uttering the magic word Eternity… a summons which can also bring to his aid heroes of the historic past!” As members of an archaeology team die off one-by-one after opening the cursed tomb of Ra-Kut, Kid E gets involved.

NOVA NOTES : ANGELS IN ETERNITY
In the Golden Age of Comics, in Timeley Comics, the predecessor of Marvel Comics, there was a second-banana hero called the Angel, a Saint rip-off in a gaudy uniform.
In the Silver Age of Comics, Stan Lee created a new Angel, as part of the X-Men, and created a whole motif for the X-Men of gold and blue uniforms, albeit with masks.
One motif I loved from the old Thor comic was that Thor, a god, was in love with his alter ego's mortal nurse---and the forbidden love for a human and a god was fodder for many of the stories.
