 Howard Walter Florey
Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Florey was a brilliant student (and junior sportsman) who studied medicine at the University of Adelaide from 1917 to 1921.
At the university he met Ethel Reed, another medical student who was to become both his wife and his research colleague.
After the death of Ethel, he married his long-time colleague and research assistant Dr. Margaret Jennings in 1967.

Comments: Very rare American Art Nouveau literary poster by Ethel Reed one of the most important figures of the "American Poster Renaissance".
This charming poster was printed by the Heliotype Printing Company using a color lithography process that produced very thin and subtle "washes" of color.
Condition: A-, linen mounted, good color, very slight haziness to red tones, this is typical for this image, and it is an impressive specimen overall.
