Showcase Album for June 1999 - Def Leppard "Euphoria"
That one album is probably the closest release I can think of that comes to a 10, and with that nostalgic value thrown it, I know I'd slap a 10 on it, and all albums that are released are measured up to this standard.
Another point for "Euphoria", is the fact that even though it sounds GOOD the first time through, the more I listened to it, the more I found myself liking it even better than I originally thought I was going to.
Most of the songs on this album can be traced back to some of their past works, especially mirroring songs on both "Hysteria" and "Adrenalize", with a couple of dark songs tossed in that would have been right at home on "Retroactive".

Lights of Euphoria: album reviews and ratings
Over the years, Torben worked with an extensive list of musicians/vocalists who landed their voice to Lights of Euphoria, the more notable of which being the contribution of Jimmy Machon (Godheads) who provided all the vocals on the albums Blood Brothers ('97) and Voices ('99).
Euphoria's vocals are rough, but completely undistorted and totally legible, which can be a source of distinction in a genre where distortion is often the name of the game."
Shadows Merging is a Lights of Euphoria remix of the Run Level Zero track released in 2001, while Dyskonnect is a God Module song remixed by Torben.

I have seen zero television ads for the album, and though there are 3 PBS stations in the area, I've never seen either the edit of the promo DVD aired on any of them, nor have I heard the promo-only 'Stuck Inside A Cloud' on the radio at all.
Albums tend to debut higher and then fall sharply (I hope Brainwashed hangs in there during the holidays, at least).
I also am miffed that Capitol/Paul released the live album and DVD the week of the annivesary of George's death; it would have been appropriate (and better sales-wise) to have released "Brainwashed" on Nov. 26, the week of the anniversary, and pushed McCartney to Dec. 3.

 Six Degrees Records - Euphoria
The bluesy, organic sound of the acoustic and slide guitar is not what you'd expect to hear in the hi-tech world of modern electronica and trip-hop but that's exactly what made the album Euphoria such an unexpected success in 1999.
The album has a definite contemporary sound, thanks in part to William Orbit and Madonna's drummer Steve Sidelnyk, who provides both live drumming and electronic percussion programming, and Garry Hughes' state-of-the-art production and keyboard skills.
And in general, Ken Ramm acknowledges, "Euphoria seems to be falling into the rock section of the stores, not electronica." But that hasn't stopped the electronica world from taking notice.

In the tradition of Deep Forest or Enigma, Euphoria's self-titled CD (I believe it is a debut CD) is a collection of ambient grooves, peppered with dreamy female vocals and bass-heavy samples.
This is one of those CDs where if you're not paying attention, you won't notice when one song ends and the next one begins.
Trust me, if you are familiar with Deep Forest or Enigma, then imagine them with more defined instrumentation, deeper grooves and seductive vocals and you have Euphoria.

Those seeking a visceral punch may be disappointed with Euphoria Morning, a downbeat set of introspective musings rendered even less accessible by its somewhat slack production.
Bravely dropping the macho excesses of his old persona, he ponders relationships, grief, loneliness, and spirituality, while exploring the more subdued end of his vocal range with impressive versatility.
On the lesser side, "Moonchild" has a trite lyric; the solo-acoustic "Sweet Euphoria" is a bit aimless; and "Preaching the End of the World" -- a potentially beautiful tune -- is damaged by pointless electronic effects.

Because it is a Chris Cornell album, to me, it is as brilliant as everything else he has done.
The only problem I have with Euphoria Morning is that it's Chris Cornell's only solo effort, which is a real shame because the lyrics and music seem to evoke more emotion that the songs he produced while in Soundgarden or Audioslave.
