Do you consider Europe a continent ? - Yellowworld Forums
Dividing a large mass of land generally goes by geographic boundaries, but I think cultural boundaries are just as strong.
Hence, I do not think there should be an America or a Eurafrasia.
There are several models, some counting North and South America as "America", Europe and Asia as "Eurasia" and even Africa, Europe, and Asia as "Eurafrasia." So there are as few as 4 and as many as 7, although commonly there are 6 or 7.

Well, India was a continent til it slammed into Asia giving us the Himalayas, now it is a sub-continent.
And depending on how one looks on it, there are probably only 3 continents: America (one continent, not two), Eurafrasia (including the big island of Australia) and Antarctica.
Then again, one could argue for N. and S. America and for Eurasia and Africa and Australasia and Antarctica.

Depending on how you count them, there are anywhere from 4 to 7 continents.
The difference of opinion arises because some people consider Europe and Asia to be one continent, some people consider North and South America to be one continent, and a few people even consider Europe, Asia, and Africa to be one huge continent called Eurafrasia.
As mentioned above, not everyone agrees on exactly how the world is divided into continents, but these are the entities you will sometimes see referred to as continents:

I would maybe consider there being 3 continents.
America, EurAfrAsia (really, the Suez canal is the only, and artificial, body of water preventing Africa from being a part of Asia, and Australia being a huge island of this monster of a continent) and Antartica.
