Eurogamer launches groundbreaking video content service // GamesIndustry.biz
The service, which can be access through a dedicated portal at www.eurogamer.tv, uses the company's new Flash-based video streaming technology to deliver high quality video to users without the need for them to install any custom software or plug-ins.
Initially, it will be used to serve game trailers and footage, but Eurogamer expects to begin producing original videogames-related content in the near future - and the company will announce the high-profile hiring of an editor to oversee video content shortly.
Eurogamer, which is also the publisher of this site and our sister trade site, MobileIndustry.biz, has made a significant investment in infrastructure to be able to serve millions of videos each month, after seeing huge demand for the Eurogamer TV service during its beta period over the past few months.

In keeping with the growing multimedia theme that Eurogamer is moving towards, a regular podcast was launched in the Summer of 2006.

EA exec disses Gears of War, Eurogamer pats back - Joystiq
One of those outlets was Eurogamer, which picked up on Tascan's rant and used the incident to herald its own "brave" work with a link-back (in the original post; now edited).
One half were guys getting on EA's case for daring to mention the word "innovate" the second half were people ripping into Eurogamer for vindicating their review with an EA statement by a guy who had never even played the game.
I've always found Eurogamer to be full of shit; the regulars on the discussion boards are just as full of shit too.

 BGG Thread: A Eurogamer's View
Although descended from "grognard"-style wargames, there is much eurogame influence in TS's design and many of its mechanics should seem familiar to eurogamers.
Eurogamers will not be impressed by the production values.
The rules are probably simpler than those for some popular eurogames such as Caylus, and are much simpler than the rules for War of the Ring or Arkham Horror (which are not eurogames, I know; just popular games with complex rules).

GameSpot Forums - Ask GameSpot! - The gamespot editors might want to look at eurogamer's website
I'm a long-time subscriber that still thinks GS is doing a great job, most especially with reviews.   However there's a creeping lack of mature tone thru-out the website that has I suspect many over 25 wondering what editorial direction GS is taking.
I can understand you point but you can't decide who's in and who's out of the gamespot club so to speak, as long as the gamers are happy who cares, no site can be a utopia, but i think gs captures the gaming community quite well.
I referenced Eurogamer's website because user comments there are often uniformly constructive.  Other posters there generally do not tolerate aimless posts.  At the same time, the overall tone of the website is not uber-serious.  GS's editors really should have a look at that website and discuss it's editorial stance.

 BGG Thread: The Eurogamer
While you might think Settlers is the definitive Eurogame, that isn't a very popular opinion with "the Gamerati" these days.
Most eurogamers tend to shun games with random elements these days and dice are especially disliked.
However, the cartoonist is pointing out a trend on the BGG, and that's a lot of self-proclaimed Eurogamers like to bash on the randomness of die rolling in other games.

EuroGamer gave bad reviews for Maxpayne(PC) too, they just hate cool HKBO games/movies..well every1 has there, na..
Considering Eurogamer's very critical reviews (not saying that they are in any way wrong or bad, just their critical opinions), it is almost funny that in Eurogamer's readers' awards for the best games in 2001 Max Payne won 2 of the 3 categories it was nominated: Best Character and Cinematography...
I thought it was almost funny that the READERS of Eurogamer thought Max was good at least in those categories, whereas Eurogamer's reviewer clearly did not appreciate those too much.

And that rocked :P I also bought Sonic the Hedgehog (Xbox 360), which isn't as bad as all the reviews make it out to be.
Eurogamer, I agree with what you say about the game, especially about the very loose controls, the shitty camera and the game's desire to load everything seperately, but it deserved better than a 2.
Hell, I thought Superman Returns was pretty shitty myself, and you actually gave that a higher score.
