Only when it is clear that the majority of Europeans support federation we should make a step as irreversible as giving the parliament and government of the EU a full mandate by the citizens.
If the European people elect a fully legislative parliament and a government, that no longer is the case, and no matter what legally would be laid down, a move to leave the Union could no longer be considered legitimate.
