These roads maintain their new numbers from Denmark and southward, though, as are other European routes within Scandinavia.
This has violated the logical numbering principle of the network, but on the other hand the reason to have the network is to support international traffic, not to "beautify" the logics in the system.

There are a number of routes to get the the Ring, but I shall just briefly mention the one we have used.
Pass north of Liege, still on the E40 (A3) we then head south onto the E42 (A60) which is signposted towards Verviers, and also Spa.
I think another route is to head towards Koln on the E40 (A4) and then turn south onto the E29 (A1) which takes the autoroute closer to the Ring.

However, European route numbers (E-whatever) are usually given less prominence than domestic road numbers, and are often omitted altogether for miles on end, so the detailed directions below give the domestic road number first and the European route number in brackets.
The return route might be a bit less interesting, but with some great roads, and as you can see it is very easy on directions and i think it will get you to your destination quicker.

Most taxis know where Gulledelle is. If they do not then we are in front of the "Cora" supermarket in a part of Brussels called Woluwé-St. Lambert.
Take the E40 motorway out of Brussels in the direction of Luik/Liege - we are the first junction.

THE expansion of the European high-speed rail network will continue with the opening of the Leuven-Liege section in Belgium of the Paris-Brussels- Frankfurt high-speed route on December 15.
The new 300km/h section which opens in December is being built alongside the E40 highway from Leuven to Bierset to the west of Liege.
Thalys' director general, Mr Michel Jadot, says he is looking forward to the new challenges presented from December 15, and anticipates an increase in competition on other key European routes during the next few years.
