Pedroza won three fights in 1977, two by knockout, and then, on April of 1978, the WBA's world Featherweight champion, Cecilio Lastra of Spain, travelled to Panama to defend his title on April 18 against Pedroza, who knocked him out in round 13 to become world Featherweight champion.
Pedroza rose off the canvas in 1984 to knock out Gerald Hayes in ten, and he tied the record for division defenses with a win over Angel Levi Mayor, once again in Venezuela.

How ignorant and you mention him in the same breath as Sanchez, Pep, sandler, nelson even Barerra and morales have a greater claim to be on there than Pacman he simply hasnt done enough at the weight.
Eusebio Pedroza was a greater featherweight than either Pac, Barrera, or Morales.
Sanchez and Nelson are the two best of the last 25 years, with Eusebio right behind them.

Following a win over top contender Jose Caba and former featherweight champion Juan LaPorte, McGuigan was matched with Eusebio Pedroza for his WBA featherweight title.
On June 8, 1985 a crowd of nearly 26,000 packed Queen's Park Rangers Stadium in London to see a match-up between McGuigan and the skillful Panamanian legend.
