  Euston Hall
Euston first appears in the Domesday Book in 1087 as a manor belonging to the Abbey at Bury St Edmunds.
The domes at Euston were replaced by the low pyramid roofs you see today, and some of the house was refaced.
This charming church stands on the site of the original medieval parish church (the base of the tower is all that remains now) and is a rare example of an unaltered seventeenth-century country church.

 The studios
Euston Road served as the headquarters of Thames Television and the transmission centre for both Euston Road and Teddington.
However, Euston Road did have one claim to fame in that it was the only ITV studios to have featured in a film.
Thames Television House remained in use until Thames closed down on December 31st 1992 to be replaced by the vastly inferior Carlton and the slow death of regional ITV.

It was permitted because it was thought to be sufficiently far upriver to preclude its interfering with the view of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, although critics have complained that it destroys the delicate and harmonious view of those historic structures.
Three additional towers built in the early 1960s all won approval because the boroughs and the LCC wanted to make much needed street improvements, but lacked the resources to buy the extraordinarily valuable land at market prices.
Nonetheless, the tower reinforced the determination of the LCC to prevent the London parks from being hemmed in by high buildings in the way that Central Park in New York became walled in by apartment houses.

Piano himself refers to his design as a "Shard of Glass", describing the tower's design as a sharp and light presence in the London skyline, its shape generous at the bottom and narrow at the top, disappearing into the air like the mast of a tall ship.
The tower is planned to be sheathed in glass, using a ventilated double-skin facade to reduce heat gain.
