A Brief History of the Evangelical Covenant Church   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
The history of the Covenant Church started amidst the waves of revival in the Lutheran state church of Sweden (map of Sweden) and continues to the United States (map of USA) with the waves of immigration in the mid to late 1800's.
Similarly, although the Covenant has an affinity for the work of ecumenism, the non-creedal stance of the Covenant has prevented it (as a denomination) from allying itself formally with other denominations in groups such as the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) and the National Council of the Churches of Christ.
To examine the primary documents of the Covenant Church, it is necessary to travel to North Park University in Northwest Chicago.
