Kenyan Evans Rutto won his second consecutive Chicago marathon Sunday although a stiff breeze scuppered his world record bid on the flat course.
Rutto won in an unofficial time of 2:06:16, which was 26 seconds slower than his first victory on his marathon debut through Chicago's wind-swept streets last year.
Rutto broke out fast with a pack of his training team mates, all coached by Dieter Hogan, before the pacesetters fell back at about 20 miles as Rutto pushed unchallenged to the front.
