Evansville is the regional center for a large trade area in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.
Evansville was laid out in 1817, and was named in honor of Robert Morgan Evans (1783-1844), one of its founders, who was an officer under then General William Henry Harrison in the War of 1812.
On November 6, 2005, the Evansville Tornado of November 2005 caused 22 deaths in Newburgh and Evansville.

Camp is alledgedly not interested in dealing with Detroit or Chicago due to their strengths and weaknesses being similar to his own, but it would be interesting to see if Evansville gives up on their QB situation and then turns their sights to the Wolverines, who have a surplus at this spot.
Evansville is out of town this weekend at their Virginia-based training camp.

The remaining franchises that suspended operations with league permission, namely the franchises in Columbus, Minneapolis, Louisville, Akron, Milwaukee, Rochester, Hartford and Hammond, were canceled, since none were sold, readmitted or extended in their suspension by the July 7, 1928 date.
