Evansville's 3-game sweep of the 2006 Championship Series capped off an improbable run in which the Otters won 6 consecutive playoff games.
In that game, on September 15th, Evansville scored 3 runs in the top of the 10th inning and held on to beat the Chillicothe Paints 6-3 and win their first Frontier League Championship.
Otter 1B Jeff Goldbach was named the Series MVP - he hit.333 with a double and two RBIs.

Evansville led the league in attendance each of the Otters' first four seasons, and they remain one of the Frontier League's top draws.
The final game at Chillicothe was a nail-biter as the Otters scored three times in the tenth to take the lead and narrowly escaped in the bottom of the inning as the Paints brought the tying run to the plate but failed to score.
Pohl coached the Otters from 2002-06 and was also director of baseball operations in 2005-06, a position he kept in addition to his new managerial duties.
