Though Everclear's Northwestern grunge-punk style was hardly revolutionary when the band became popular in 1995, the band's superb songs and Art Alexakis' us-against-them lyrics were taken to heart by bored Gen-X teens.
Everclear then added several songs to the EP and released it as World of Noise in 1993 on Fire Records.
Everclear returned with the more straightforward Slow Motion Daydream in 2003 before the aptly-titled greatest hits compilation Ten Years Gone: The Best of Everclear 1994-2004 appeared in October 2004.

The band decided to cancel the remainder of their tour following a final show on the Gold Coast, during which Alexakis was hit with a shoe (while the crowd was singing him "Happy Birthday") and Montoya's acoustic bass guitar was stolen.
The band's self-titled debut album was released on May 27, 2005.

Everclear vocalist and guitarist Art Alexakis was born in Santa Monica, CA in 1962.
The new Everclear debuted in March of 2004 and, by the summer, had added Josh Crawley on keyboards, marking the first time the band had swelled to a five-piece (Bretl also left around this time, replaced by ex-Everclear drum tech Brett Snyder).
The addition of a keyboardist has filled out the band’s sound, and, despite the second guitarist, the album rocks a little less hard, but the big pop hooks are still there and the songwriting is still relatable and fun.

No one is going to confuse us with a band like Yes, with their level of musicianship but at the same time, that was not what we wanted to do or be like.

When the band travelled to the UK for a brief tour a couple of weeks after the Australian tour, Craig opted to stay home and take some time off.

Though the tone of the band does shift occasionally (The Twistinside, Queen of the Air, My Sexual Life), what the band tells us remains the same throughout (the pervasive themes of escapism, emptiness, and trauma); and that's not enough to capture a rave review from the more competent musical critics.

They report that the guys in the band were “really nice.” Most of the audience at the last performance were military and their dependents and guests, and no incidents of unruly behavior were noted.
Daughter 18 reports that the singer closed the performance with a “God Bless you,” but made some remark about “having to love your country even if you disagree with what they’re doing.” Daughters were rather fuzzy on exactly what he said, and I was of course held out of earshot by the Z-rays.
We are going to reach the tipping point soon where talented bands will go directly to iTunes and not even care if their records aren't ever released on CD.

Influences Pixies, Sonic Youth, X, Neil Young, Led Zepplin." When Craig responded to the ad, Art apparently talked his ear off with plans for the band and was so excited Craig had to hold the phone away from his ear to prevent being one of the first deaf bassists (slight exaggeration).
Scott Cuthbert then joined the band and they recorded their first album in 1993.
